Pune

Pune is the second-largest city in the state of Maharashtra after Mumbai with about 4.5 million people in 450 sq. km. Pune also called Poona west-central Maharashtra state, in the intersection of the Mula and Mutha rivers also called "Queen of the Deccan," It is the cultural capital of Maratha people.

The city gained significance in the 17th century as the funding of their Bhonsle Marathas. The Mughals recorded it but functioned as the Maratha funds from 1714 to the British in 1817 before its collapse.
